Orono Parks Legacy
In January 2022, Big Island Legacy took up consideration of expanding its mission from a single project (Big Island Park) to the broader Orono park system.
The idea was presented to the Park Commission in February of 2022, garnering strong interest.
In 2023, a new Board of Directors began forming, a new mission was adopted, and Big Island Legacy changed its name to Orono Parks Legacy.
